Members of the Fincastle Chapter participated in tributes and programs held in observance of Virginia’s 2015 Lee-Jackson Day.

IMG_6254On January 16, members attended the Virginia Division’s program held in the Old House of Delegates Chamber at the Virginia State Capitol. IMG_6227

Division President Suzie Snyder conducted the proceedings, which included Col. Greg Eanes’ USAF (Ret.), presentation Heritage of Honor: Our Confederate Military Legacy (available from, as well as the traditional presentation of memorial wreaths at the statue of Robert E. Lee that presides in the chamber. Commander Les Updike, 2nd Brigade Virginia Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans, read a proclamation issued by Governor Terrance McAuliffe.


On January 17, members of the chapter attended the parade and ceremonies in Lexington. Chapter President Harriet B. Francis presented a memorial wreath at the Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson statue.Lexington_2015
