virginia dareHistorical evening was made special by the awarding of Crosses of Military Service to veterans of the Vietnam War and the Global War on Terror. In addition, Professor¬†Brian Steele Wills,¬†now serving as Director of the Center for the Study of the Civil War Era and Professor of History at Kennesaw State University, Georgia, after a long tenure at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise, presented a delightful and informative account of the life of Confederate General William Dorsey Pender. Music was provided by the group Virginia Dare, playing songs from before, during, and after the war.

We thank the hostess chapters from the Sixth District for their hospitality and warm reception in Suffolk. The beautiful location along the Nansemond River was special.

The Fincastle Chapter is proud of our native daughter, Suzie Snyder, as she completes her final year as Virginia Division President. She has led the organization with grace.
