IMG_3037On Friday, January 17, members of the Fincastle Chapter participated in the Lee-Jackson Day Observance ceremony held in the old House of Delegates Chamber in the State Capitol. Division President Suzie Snyder presided over the ceremony andIMG_3058 the colors were presented by the Capt. William Latane Camp, SCV.¬†Lynn Reed, President of the Hamilton Wade Chapter, led the assembly in singing of the National Anthem, Carry Me Back to Old Virginia, and Dixie. Distinguished guests included UDC President General Jamie Likins, Virginia Division CoC Vice President McGowan Storage, and Commander Ronald Graves of the Seventh Brigade SCV. Cmdr. Graves presented the Lee-Jackson Day Proclamation from Governor McAuliffe. John Frawner presented a historical program on Richmond’s Hollywood Cemetery.

 

As is customary, memorial wreaths were laid at the foot of the statue of Robert E. Lee. The wreaths were presented by UDC and SCV chapters from around the state and from other organizations.
